When we met Ik Hur & Ka Hei we were very excited to capturing their day. They were very clear in the vision of celebration that they wanted, with a tradition tea ceremony after the civil ceremony and a Ceilidh Dance for their first dance. I think though, for us it was the importance of tradition and family values and friendships that shone through at this wedding.

In the morning Ik Hur got ready at The Oak Tree, with her bridesmaids helping with both her hair and make up - now that being said you’d think it would be stressful but No - these ladies took it all in their stride and it was one of the most relaxed wedding mornings I know I’ve ever shot! The couple got married and then it was into the traditional tea ceremony where elders and family drink tea to celebrate the union of this beautiful couple - I won’t even try to tell you what they were saying to each other but I do know that while shooting it I got lost in how beautiful it was and to be honest that was the theme of the day - Simplistic Beauty. Two families becoming one, sharing stories in the sunshine, sitting chatting together outside all set in the stunning surroundings of The Oak Tree.
